  • Serving as primary contact with research participants from sensitive and clinical populations (veterans, people with Alzheimer’s dementia, suicidality, insomnia, substance use disorders, and mood disorders)

  • Determining eligibility of and obtaining informed consent from participants

  • Conducting cognitive and diagnostic interviews, administering cognitive and neuropsychological tests, structured clinical interviews

  • Attaching and calibrating polysomnography and EEG equipment, running fMRI scanning sessions and pre/post scan procedures, collecting actigraphy data, specimens, and medical information

  • Managing large, complex data sets and running statistical analyses to reveal underlying patterns, correlations, and trends, collecting, managing, and pre-processing patient and laboratory data for clinical research

  • Developing and updating study protocols, SOPs, CRFs, and checklists

  • Ensuring compliance with GCP, FDA, NIH, and institutional regulations, research protocols, auditing CRFs for completion and accuracy, reporting protocol deviations, and preparing for site visits from regulatory authorities
